I remember sa isang homily one wednesday mass sabi ng priest sana daw magsimba naman tayo without asking anything to HIM...like if we pray sasabihin natin sa kanya na " Dear God im here ryt now bcoz wala lang po... I just want to visit you " bcoz normally daw we go to church kung may hihilingin tayo sa kanya... sabi din kaya we keep on asking for something bcoz we feel an emptiness to our heart... feeling natin may kulang...
emptiness to something... loneliness to someone... if you feel emptiness and loneliness, do you think it is meaningless... to think na ipinanganak naman tayo sa mundo without anything...

And it is worth it, di sayang ang matagal na paghihintay!

totally agree with you yummy...
emptiness is like giving you a chance to reflect about yourself and the things around you... kya it is not really meaningless kung mafefeel mo toh...
pero lam mo ba na synonym ng emptiness ang meaningless... same meaning ba twag dun?

Emptiness and loneliness are of the same nature I think. It's like being empty is being lonely ... parang poknat at ranilo, iisa pero magkaiba?

.. sometimes, we really feel that we have nothing left... pero sa totoo lang.. feelings lang yun.. reality tells us that we have almost evrything that will make us full.. that can make us alive.. or even find the happines that can give meaning to our lives.. nasa perspective lang ng tao yan.. ang finding meaning to an Empty life is a talent... ;D

... that's something to ponder about. **** Finding meaning to an empty life. **** At one time or several times in our lives we will feel emptiness in our lives. I know, I've been there too. But it wasn't caused only by people or things. Sometimes it has something to do with what you do. Several times we've had a discussions about what we really wanted to do with our lives. And most often than not we end up doing what we pursued to be doing. Parang you feel like you have are a nonentity. You just exist to earn money. You don't really like what you do. That's emptiness for me.

there are reasons behind everything, emptiness like sadness along with other things come, for us to know the difference and importance of its opposite. we may never appreciate gladness without sadness we may nver know the real importance of the person without losing them first. we may nver appreciate the feeling of being in love without hurting. everything has its purpose... wether its gud or bad its for the best!

nice topic.
for me, maybe it's close to what we call 'emptiness' but i want to describe it as "in-betweens", "moments of lull", "lows" in our life; a phase when we wonder we don't find joy in what we have or do anymore. finding no fulfillment or satisfaction on something. no sense of completeness. hindi empty e kundi parang laging may kulang.. but in reality, we have been blessed with a lot of things that we just, well, neglect to count (and to be thankful for!).
it has something to do with our attitude too.. how we cope with it. to quote JojoCrisologo, "find meaning to an empty life". don't just sulk. do something! empty na nga boring pa! napaka-senseless na buhay yan. . .

hmmn.. We are created COMPLETE. i know mabigat na phrases to but i strongly believe that we are. it is human nature to "WANT" and to "DESIRE" but in fact we have everything we need as long as we know we are in God's.. sabi pa, "exceedingly, abundantly, more than we ask or imagine!" now, can you imagine that?! ;D

"We've discovered that owning things and consuming things does not satisfy our longing for meaning. . . . Piling up material goods cannot fill the emptiness of lives which have no confidence or purpose." Jimmy Carter This observation by an american president on a meaningless existence is mirrored by the american way of living... they are prosperous... they can own anything... but is there a meaning at all? Hardly satisfied. Which means, even us, impoverished and poor [by my standard, coz other people might say otherwise based on theirs ;D] when we get rich and owned a lot of things, we might still be asking what's emptiness for us... and how to fill it. Let's broaden the subject, I think emptiness has a meaning in itself... a purpose for us all... it would certainly point us to strive and find that thing that would make us full... to strive to find out what was in it for us...
